View Full Version : Heavyweights
This is a weightclass in shambles. We have no champion and no real champ material. The only HW I like is Kongo.
Now that Couture is gone there is no champion. Sylvia and Vera fought to a boring decision and Kongo recently upset Cro-Cop.
So, we have Nog that barely beat Heath Herring. We do not have anyone really after Kongo, Sylvia, Vera and Nog. I like Jake O'Brien but haven't seen him since he beat Herring on tv. The UFC is getting bored with Andrei Arlovski and haven't scheduled him recently so he is out of the picture.
Who is going to step up? Will UFC sign some good heavyweights? Is Lesnar a true stud or will he blow it in his first big match?

I think Lesnar will win his first match, not sure how well he will do in the overall picture though. I would like to see Kongo vs Nog and winner get Tim for title match. You never know though....Randy said things could be worked out but he hadnt thought about it too much yet, so he may be back. Monte Cox said he would let Fedor come to the UFC and fight Randy, so there is still some hope I guess. 1 in 1mil or so but hope none the less ;)
I would like to think Dana would put this fight in Hawaii. He said he wants to fill a stadium in Hawaii (aloha stad. I think) anyway he says he can only do it with the right card and this would be a good fight to put on there. Better happen quick.... Randy isn't a spring chicken

i will be sporting my "Unleashed Fury" WWE Brock Lesnar shirt. and yes, i do have one. that guy is a freakish athlete, and heck, if a one dimensional striker like Mark Hunt can transition to MMA, then a national champion collegiate wrestler with ridiculous athleticism for his size should do just fine. also, think about it, we will be probably competing at the top end of the 265 lb. limit at 6-7 inches shorter than Tim Sylvia. i hope he doesn't crap the bed and be a big let down, but from what i hear, he has taken this very seriously and i believe he will do just fine.
His first MMA contacts were the Gracies. He knows what he is doing.

yeah, i'd say they halfway know what they are doing, don't ya think?
Yeah, I wonder how many years combined the Gracies have in BJJ or MMA.

does the term "B.C." meaning anything to you? didn't you see that reference to the Gracie family in The New Testamament? When Jesus told Helio, "Honor thy Rear Naked Choke"...
hahahahahaha thats classic. I love the Gracies!

lol lesnar is training with the right people:) i think he'll win his first 3-5 small name fights then when he gets up to kongo, nog, and silvias level he will have improved a lot and give them a decent fight, but i am pretty sure he won't be too sucessful at the level of those guys in the HW so he'll stay small named fights for about 1 more year and i think will improve a ton and could become a dominent HW
for now i think if there is a title fight, i'd like to see Kongo Vs Silvia, both have been doing well lately and either would make a decent champ for now (nothing like randy of course) but it will do for the time bieng, untill we can find a superstar who will run the HW for a while... and who knows, either of them might be that guy, silvia was it b4 randy, so i'll be interested 2 see what goes on with this wieght class
