i like joe stevenson a lot... he's a good fighter.. but i think that BJ is on another level, as far as ground game BJ is an animal... and his striking looked great vs jens pulver, joe daddy seems to only really look for the guillotine, that is his guard, and take down defence, he loves the move, and i think he's a little to reliant on it, plus bj is just a great fighter.. and don't think he'll fall into a simple submission like that, and if he's in the same physical shape he was in with his fight vs jens, joe stevenson is in trouble... because Bj has good technique, and is strong.. but if he's in good shape he is a force, but then again who really knows... joe stevenson isn't at all a bad fighter, but he hasn't proved him self to be a dominent fighter yet, he's beaten melvin guilard who is an outstanding athlete but other than that, has he fought any guys at BJ's level... I'd give this fight to BJ but i wouldn't be horribley suprised if joe daddy pulls off an upset... because we've never really seen him lose a fight badly, so don't count joe daddy out just yet.. but idk man BJ is just a F#$%in animal, it will be an explosive fight i can guarentee that

as far as the other fight idk enough about fabricio werdum, but gonzaga is a great fighter, he's i believe a BJJ black belt, and as we saw with him vs cro cop he's got a good stand up game, and even in his loss to randy couture (whos a machine) he broke his arm with a leg kick, thats a strong ass kick, and i think standing up or on the ground gonzaga is a great fighter, and i'd say the only thing working against him right now, is coming off of a loss... especially a knock out loss with a busted up nose, i don't think (i hope atleast) that he will come in timid, because he's a tough guy, but getting busted up that bad is never fun to come back from and fight again

Werdum lost a boring fight to Andre Arlovski. He is also a great BJJ guy but I think there will be a def. size advantage for Gonzaga

Gonzaga is legit and to be honest, as much as i was glad to see Randy win, nobody can say for sure that if Gonzaga's nose didn't explode so early in the fight, that maybe the outcome would have been different. Gonzaga is immensely underrated, IMO, and he will be back fighting for the title in no time, i really respect how he carries himself and his overall approach to fighting. he can be a real force as his striking continues to improve. heck, he broke randy's arm with a kick and knocked cro cop into next week, plus a legit BJJ black belt. i see him bouncing back big time.

as for BJ and Joe Daddy...i see BJ all the way. Joe is exceptional but BJ is one of the best ever, especially with his head on straight. it will be a very tactical and exciting match! i can't wait...

Anyone else smell a heavyweight interm title match coming? I'd like to see Kongo and Gonzaga battle it out for the interm, mostly because I can't stand watching another Tim Sylvia fight haha.

My gut tells me that Sylvia and Kongo are gonna fight for a shot at an interm title match against the winner of Nogueira and some un-nammed oppenent, but who knows.

As far as BJ and Joe, if BJ comes in shape with his head in the game he'll dominate, either way its gonna be a GOOD fight.

Not sure an interem title is necessary in this case since Randy gave up the title. I think Dana will pick 2 deserving people to fight for a vacant title. Interem is only really used in Sean Sherks case because he can't possibly defend it until CSAC makes a decision and Sherk will also face winner after his suspension is completed or until the decision is overturned.

I am glad that Dana is making several key Heavyweight fights that will determine a title fight.

I just mentioned the interm title because Dana sounds bound and determined to have Randy honour the conditions of his contract (two more fights before july 2008?). I imagine that there will be a fight for the heavyweight title well before Randy's contract runs out

I think both fights are going to be good. Anything can happen but I predict Gonzaga and BJ will have their hands raised.

Not sure if the ball is in Randy's court or in Dana's at the moment but it seems that either Randy will wait out until his contract expires or he will fight 2 fights and then go elsewhere.

I really really like Joe Daddy....but if BJ comes prepared. NO WAY IN HELL he loses. He is an absolute beast. AND on top of that, I want to watch him go at it with the Muscle Shark when he comes back.
