Day from HELL

Anyone ever have one of those days where NOTHING seems to go right?

I work at a college bookstore, as the assistant store manager. We're right in the middle of buy-back, where we...well...buy back the books from the kids. It's insanely busy, because they're getting cash for their books, and are trying to get as much as they can...which is understandable. It's just super hectic, all the way around.

Today, my boss decides to go home sick around 11. Could it have been because it was 80 degrees and beautiful out? Whatever, better off without her. But then one of the registers breaks. Then the server crashes, so no credit cards orders can go through, and we have no internet, so i cant do most of my job requirements. We're down a person without my boss, so i'm hootin' and hollerin' at college kids to do the work i need them to do, and they're all doing it badly. Add to that answering phonecalls nonstop while dealing with giving people caps and gowns for graduation...insanity.

So just as I think my day is over at 6...i go to count the safe, get the deposit done, and leave. Nope. Safe is over by 955 bucks. WHAT?! Counted it 3 times until I realized the error. Didnt get home til 7.

Another 10 hour day tomorrow.

Also everyone hates those bookstores cause you buy the book for like $90 and get $12 back at years end!:mad:

Thats why I would wait till next semester and get the kids on their way into the bookstore but Im a prick like that sometimes!

Been there tho....after the 3rd time I counted I would have instantaneously been $955.00 richer! :D

Yeah man, I get yelled at by kids ALL the time. They yell at me because they, ahem, I quote, "spent $500 on these books and now I'm only getting 65 back!"

So I go off. Its bad. I'm suprised I havent gotten fired yet for yelling at the kids, hahahaha.

Thanks for the kind words though Tom, it was just a shitty friggin day, I know everyone goes through it, but when you're in the basement of a building, and you're sweating cause you dont know where this money came from, and you got annoying college kids, with all their hopes and dreams, on your case (i fucking hate them all! except the girls, HA.) it drive you WILD.

I Just Had One Of Them Days Today. First I Had To Drop A Job To Go Do A Shitty One In Phoenix Got Done Came Out Work Van Had A Flat. Limp It To The Gas Station Air It Up Get Back On The Road Head To Discount Tire Then On The Way There The Check Gauges Light Flashed Van Over Heats Wait For It To Cool Put Water In The Radiator Shit Just Runs Out From Underneath The Van Say Fuck It Just Drive It Back To The Shop Where It Finally Lets Go In The Parking Lot. Next I Look At The Time And Think Shit I Can Make It To Class Tonight On Time So Change Hop In The Truck Head To My BJJ Class And Turns Out That Friday Classes Arent Held On Thursdays :p
