What a joke!!! He is going to fight a guy with 1 pro fight. please the best heavy weight in the world more like the biggest joke. I hope he gets knocked out by this guy so everyone will see what a joke he really is.

i'm somewhat on the same page as you, although in no way do i think Fedor is a joke...BUT, that being said, he hasn't done a single thing to impress me in about 2 years so his "legend" is wearing thin!

Not to mention canceling a fight with a legit HW to drum up a fight with a MW... I think Fedor is great, maybe the greatest in the ring or cage right now, but I hate to see a guy of his caliber talking on lesser opponents.

...continually taking on lesser opponents! that's why he is beginning to agitate me.

Only thing is we dont know if it is actually Fedors fault, or if his management is protecting him and milking everything for all its worth. Which I guess in the long run is their job. It just sucks to see the No1 guy fight people not even in the top 20

true, it may be his management but think of it this way, if he REALLY wanted to fight, don't you think he would tell his management to make it happen? i mean, do you think they would say no to an assertive Fedor? i just think he isn't to keen on risking his legacy...hong man choi, r u serious??? he might as well stay at his gym and spar, that may be more competitive

Fedor is no joke but he does need to be fighting ONLY the best if he wants to go down in History as an MMA legend.
P.S. Welcome to the board!

Agreed. Fedor taking this fight is akin to Rocky Balboa being protected by Micky in Rocky III. If he's the fighter he says he is, he should be looking for the top HWs in the world, and putting them in his victim list. Like Chuck Liddell. Take him or leave him guys, but he's fought the world's best. And beat them....well except for rampage. :p All part of his soon to be legendary status as a fighter.

He has only had one mma fight, but has had 15 K1 fights in which he is 12-3. He is 7 feet and 2 inches tall, and weights 360 pounds. Plus he has a win over the legendary Bob Sapp under his belt (being sarcastic there). He will have a significant height and weight advantage over Fedor.
Having said that, Fedor is going to win by submission in less then 90 seconds.
It will be funny to watch due to the size difference. I'd much rather watch Fedor take on Randy Couture though.
If Fedor is not careful then he may fight a long list of nobodies and one day run into a brick wall. The brick wall being a legit HW. In my opinion, he needs some impressive competition to remain sharp.

I just think a fighter that wants to be considered the best has to fight the best. if my management tries to protect me they go bye bye. I'm the fighter make the fights I want or I'll find someone that will. I used to like him but right now I have no respect for what he has become it just makes my sad that it seems like he's afraid to fight cause he might loose.

Fedors problem is not his management.
Apparently, the reason Fedor is not in the UFC is not because of money disputes, it was because Fedor wanted to do sambo too and dana doesn't like it when his fighters do fighting anywhere else which i mean..... cmon you can't let fedor fight at his home in russia with the sport he started with?
Fedors managers were shrewd, but dana is equally shrewd.. its just a bad match-up.
Fedor will remain the best of his era until he loses..
Then again i haven't read too much into what dana said about the dispute so i could be off.

If you were in Dana's position would you want to pay a guy that kind of money and take a chance of him getting hurt fighting for someone else. That would be like a NFL team letting their star player go play for a arena league team for their play offs it will never happen. To me if you are the best in the world you go fight the best in the world not middle weights and guys that have no MMA experiance. I just want to see him put it on the line step up and take out the big guns in MMA. and it looks more like he just living off what he did years ago.

Actually, Dana does let his fighters do other things. Think about this, Randy Couture trained before his fight by doing BJJ tournaments. I forgot who he had a match with but he did well. Karo Parisyan had a match with Sokudjou (sp) under contract with UFC. Look at Abu Dhabi vids on youtube..... you will see Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, Nate Marquardt, Dean Lister, Kurt Pelligrino all having matches at Abu Dhabi. The UFC allows fighters to also corner camp members at other shows. Forrest Griffin corners people in WEC and in EliteXC. I have seen WEC and UFC fighters corner Bodog fighters. Dana lets them do anything except fight MMA in other organizations. They can do a Judo tourney, wrestling tourney or whatever as long as they fullfull their contract by not fighting on a competitors card.
