View Full Version : McCollough vs Varner
Wow! I do not know who to pick in this one. It is a VERY good fight slated for early February on the WEC card.
I like Varner but am not sure if he has the experience or the conditioning to win. I think he could out strike Razor Rob but again, Rob likes the Muay Thai.
I think this will go to decision but I can't make a prediction
Hey Tom- Varner is a member of Arizona Combat huh?

Razor Rob by KO
Razor Rob by KO
Possibly! Not sure if Razor Rob has ever faced anyone as confident and cocky as Varner before but it should be an excellent, fast paced fight.

I think Jeff Curran has little to no chance against Urijah Faber. That dude has some crazy conditioning, and great wrestling. I just don't see this one going past round one.
That fight is in a week and a half between Curran and Faber. Faber is an excellent fighter who has an excellent chance of beating Curran but in no way will Curran be a pushover. He isn't ranked 7th in the world for nothing.

Curran is a legit, well rounded fighter and although not as flashy or dominant as Faber, he will definitely be the best test for the champ yet. yes i think Faber will win, but it will not be easy.
as for varner and rob, this is another fight that will be interesting. varner is extremely solid and although razor looks pretty tough right now, i think varner will be too well rounded in the end and will pick up a late round submission or stoppage. if rob wins, it wouldn't be a shock, that's for sure, but i just think he hasn't faced anyone as good as varner yet, that will be the difference.
I think Varner is a much different fighter in the WEC than he was in the UFC. He is more serious and confident. I guess we will see soon!

Im partial with Varner having trained with him.
In fact he was just at the bar this weekend. I gotta go with Jaime.

Is he in person the way he is on camera? He is hilarious!

his ears kind of pop out and hes not a big or even tall guy.
But he will shoot a double leg at you so fast you wont even know what hit you!
He will have his hands full for sure. He is far benind razor in the striking department IMO.

Yeah, but his last fight went to the scorecard. Faber has been much more dominant, and ends a lot of his fights in round uno. Should be entertaining though. Honestly, they really should've had Doug "Rhino" vs Brian Stann. That's the fight everyone wants to see.

Stann is still a bit inexperienced and i think they are protecting him a bit. you're right it's the fight people want to see, but if he gets eaten alive by the Rhino (no real pun intended), it would be a bad thing for their up and coming fighter. just my opinion
I agree, Stann is being protected. I think he may get a shot within 2008.
