So today we learned how to do a standing cross lapel choke. My training partner, says he thinks I have it. My instructor says I need to turn my wrists out more to use the blades of my forearms for the choke. I can't seem to turn my wrists out any more. Anyone else have this issue? Or maybe a solution?

Hey Dan:We cover several cross collar, clock, and ezekiel chokes on our dvd that specifically deal with this question.Always have your hands deep enough. try and touch your hands together around his neckCross collar...four fingers in, both sides.Turning the wrists are important but you must also use leveage, especially while standing. That requires you to pull him into your chest (downward a bit) and wring your arms and elbows towards the ceiling.cheersARi
