Today in rolling, i was going for a straight jacket, but when i pulled the arm across the back with the kimura set up, my partner started to try and shake the arm across the back loose, i figured it was to escape the choke, but i didn't go for the choke i pulled up and sort of went into a rubber guard starting position but his arm was trapped where it is in the straight jacket, and by pulling across and lifting the arm toward the head with your own legs, it puts a lot of pressure on the ligiments and tissue in the shoulder, if you do it right, it is a great lock down for control, and unless your opponent has double jointed shoulders or is extremely flexible they will most likely tap, or have nerve damage in their shoulder, i also found a sweep out of this position

any one heard of anything like this, it is un-needed, because you could easily get the choke in the straight jacket, but if you skip the choke and go for what i think might be called "the seat belt" but in rubber guard you can get a tap or a sweep, i find it to be an awesome sub/sweep set up, but i am not sure if it is already a technique? has anybody heard of the seat belt, randy couture called it that in a fight when he was announcing, but it was in guard... if you go for rubber guard or a triangle set up, the sub is there and the triangle sweep is there.... any one heard of this or can i claim this 1 to be an exclusive?

ill try and get a nice vid up... may take a couple days but i'll get one in the gym hopefully

EDIT: here's another thing?... what to call it, i have been looking threw any locks of the sort with rubber guard, but none exist, so i am going to claim it mine and video tape ASAP, the only pre-existing thing even close to it would be "the seat belt" witch is a control position that you can do from half guard to pull your way back to full guard, and when in full guard it is used to control the hand and hug the body to just be used as a control, (and in MMA it is a technique to get the fight back standing) but as much as i've reseached it.. it has not been formally known to be used as a submission and is very rarely used to sweep... and there is no documentated things that i have been able to find involving a rubber guard set up, or a triangle set up what ever you want to call it... i think this is an original technique and i'll try and get the video up soon... any one have any name suggestions

to help spark ideas for the name the technique involves

-straight jacket
-seatbelt
-shoulder lock
-triangle sweep
-kimura set up
-rubber guard "mission control"
*** it can be used as a sub or a sweep so, if you have a name for the sub part post it and if you have a name for the sweep part post it***

Well i decided to try and help you name the submission by a temping to combine as many of the names that you listed together. I came up with "The Streatbelt lock / sweep" . Can't wait to see it.

With so many different options you can go with it Brett, why not call it the Swiss Army Knife. :p

I got it. Since it is a cross between the Straight Jacket and the Rubber Guard and the SJ was used on people in the past who were "insane" and those people were thrown into "rubber Rooms" for their protection, which in turn were housed in speacial buildings called.....

The Asylum
