The Mats Look Good...

Quick Question... How Big Of An Area Do You Have To Roll?!

Btw Your Rolling Partner Looks Pretty Damn Tough...

Compaired to my acadamy they are kind of stiff, but absorb the shock really well, which is all that really matters. The area is 10ft x 10ft, which isnt that great, but it works well for drilling and specific training. My training partner Kade...he never runs out of energy lol. We were playing around on the mats for about 45 min and he was hip tossing me and a few sweeps and stuff (at least he thought he was, but he does have a good butterfly sweep lol) so I tested out the falling part as well lol.

If you aren't doing throws then stiff is good. It helps keep you from breaking toes.

I was rolling with Machine one afternoon and we were spinning clockwise with me on top and the mats are so soft it dislocated my left big toe. That happens a lot on the really soft mats.

The ceilings in my basement are too low to do big throws, maybe practice some takedowns and sweeps and stuff, but no big throws.

Over time, they begin to soften up..you just have to break them in. You may also find that your gi pants (if they are white) will get a blue hue to them over time. My white pants have slightly blue knees and butt.:)

Not sure what your basements moisture level is but have you thought about putting some plastic underneath it?

Thanks for the heads up Ari lol that is pretty interesting fact about the mats that I will have to remember. As far as moisture goes that room is dry (thankfully), and it was raining for 2 straight days when I put them down, so there were no traces of water when they got places and other places had some moisture spots.
