Ok, we have a fav. fighter now we have a "hated fighter" thread.

Honestly, I am starting to hate Arlovski fights. I really liked watching him when he was entertaining and aggressive but his last 4 fights have been BORING!

10. Travis Lutter
9. Kendall Grove
8. BJ Penn
7. Diego Sanchez
6. Chris Leben
5. Tito Ortiz
4. Melvin Guillard
3. Matt Hughes
2. Andrei Arlovski
and the most disliked is...... 1. Tim Sylvia

Why Diego Sanchez? I personally think he's not too bad except for that Koscheck fight. I think he's got a different style that going to take him places.

Tim sylvia is my choice. Also Forrest Griffin is up there, I mean he's a great fighter I just hate when he gets hit he puts his arms in front of him and runs away. It's just something that bothers me about that.

Tim Sylvia as well!

Did you guys hear about the Diego Sanchez Hep C test? He tested positive for Hep C twice before his fight with Josh...then tested neg. Then, after the fight, he tested pos for a major Staph infection (the next day he had a hole in his leg the size of a coffee cup).

Could be why he had such a lack luster performance. I don't like the kid either but I don't think he is that boring to watch...I mean there are worse guys out there.

Should they start giving the fighters fines (like Pride) for inactivity or boring fights? Or, like they did with AA, not give him a title shot anytime soon because his fight sucked so bad with Werdum? What do you think?

would be great if they did what Pride does. From what I heard though was that in the States you can't do the deduction. Have you seen them do it in Pride while in the US?

Id like to see it but I believe your right because the fight contract has how much they make and when it is signed as long as they show they get at least the base contract price

A boring fight is such a subjective criteria that fines and such will end up getting appealed in a court system.... especially in the U.S. You may hear a "stand up" driven crowd booo a really good Jiu-Jitsu matchup that is full of great technique. I wrestled most of my life so I appreciate grappling but a lot of people got into MMA through boxing or through the mentality that "fights are supposed to be stand up" and that is all they like to see. I dislike Matt Hughes but I appreciate what he does. I think the UFC needs more "money incentive awards" for his shows.

$10,000 for biggest heart. (will cause less ppl to give up)
$10,000 for biggest crowd reaction post fight. (if fighter gives crowd what they want he will get most cheers)
$5,000 most entertaining ring entrance (will add some entertainment value to ppv's ex- Diego Sanchez has band, Mashima has props.)
$10,000 for highlight reel of night (Gonzaga and Rashads high kicks)

I honestly think the Pride crowd appreciates their fighters a ton more then the UFC crowd. It is one of the most quiet crowds and usually claps when something exciting happens. UFC crowd is cut throat, they'll let you know they don't like what they're seeing right as you are walking to the ring.

I think its a culture thing...... in the U.S. I think we feel more entitled to great entertainment and since a lot of entertainment comes our way we are either perform well or we stop coming.

They all ready have the last one (knockout of the night I believe 15k and sub of the night which again I believe is the same)

There is also Fight of the night where again i belive both fighters get 10-15 k

Right, I just think the UFC could give a little more incentive to perform well. Look at Roger Huerta vs Leonard Garcia.... both guys had tremendous heart and extreme conditioning as there wasn't a dull moment in the fight. Imagine if there was an extreme conditioning monetary award given each event. Fighters would come in chiseled and able to go a million rounds at full go. I saw a Bodog fight where both fighters had their hands on their knees the ENTIRE 3rd round and would stand up only to hit each other. It was disgraceful. I am not saying physiques are everything because they aren't but look at conditioned athletes and you will see how it affects the excitement of a fight. Frank Mir is a perfect example.
