other than the martial art you already know or learned (judo, muay thai, bjj, aikido, submission wrestling...etc.). what other martial arts do you really want to learn?
Mine is BJJ and Muay Thai.
I would like to learn Ninjutsu and escrima.
I know this is a BJJ thread, but I just wanted to ask.:)
I would love to learn a weapon! So Escrima would be fun, plus, it comes from my home country :P
I would love to do BJJ, but there are no places that do it where I live. But there is a JJJ club near me I think. Me and my friend that does Kyokushin Karate decided we needed to learn how to fight on the ground. So juijitsu is what we decided.
Right now, I'm doing kickboxing/Karate.

Capoeira.
I am very acrobatic, and flexible, but what those guys can do is amazing.

I've done some martial arts and to be honest... I truely want to master the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu System, which I'm practising right now besides some other martial arts.
Probably Muay Thai and find an actual BJJ club

Right now I am rolling in BJJ, and I would like to add Judo to it to have a more complete game.

Yeah me too. I'm trying to understand it while doing BJJ.:D
I would want to learn more of an MMA type of Muay Thai so I could throw knees and kicks and maintain a position to prevent a takedown or a throw.

ahh thats a hard question for me cuz evr since i was a kid ive been fascinated by martial arts in general, for a weapon id like to learn the ultimate weapon, the katana, so prolly kendo or an old school kenjutsu school if theres any still left. and judo for throws and pins, and maybe aikido for joint locks and also throwing, and definitely ninjutsu, ive wanted to b a ninja since forevr, but the ninjutsu they teach most ppl now adays is only a watered down version, cuz obviously there will b problems in teaching ppl how to make explosives and conduct espionage activities, but thats exacly what id like to learn.
also i think id like to study wing chun, despite what most ppl may think, wing chun can b efective up close and very devastating, with punches rolling right off each other from a very vlose distance, and prolly shaolin staff and maybe a few other chinese weapons
thats a short list of things id like to learn altho not necessarilly a complete list
lol. I remember my dad would never let me practice my nunchucks alone in the house. Man, do I ever remember the welts

Yeah, definately Krav Maga, thats some hardcore stuff. Kali as well, that rocks too. The other would be ninjitsu (ahh... Tenchu....). As far as a weapon, I would have to say Katana.

From a self defense stand point, the best weapon to master is a knife or a stick. No matter where you are you will most likely find these laying around. I would very much like to learn Kali, its brutal and street ready.

YAY for me I guess ;-)
In my years I have looked for quite some MA but I always came back to JJJ
Works best for me...

+1 for me as well...JJJ hands down. I find SO many systems similar to JJJ (Krav for example). JJJ was the perfect blend of throws, joint locks, strikes, weapons work....just great.

do they teach katana in jujutsu? ive always had a major hardon for the katana, i think its the coolest weapon evr invented next to the assault rifle lol

In my case I learned how to use a curved bladed weapon (katana) a bit (not that much, but the principles - and my sensei invited some Iaido Sensei for Seminars to better understand swordfighting), because many of the Tegatanas (handswordstrikes) we use come from the swordfighting of the samurai.
of course we learn knivefighting and stickfighting, because you just have a chance to block/defend against them if you know what someone can do with it (okay, the chance to defend against a knive is minimal, but better to have a sleight chance than none at all)
We have a nice game btw... we use textmarkers instead of knives (with old t-Shirts and trousers of course ;-)... you instantly see if you got stabbed or cutted...
Well I am sure Ari will have something to say about it, and because english is not my native tounge I will stop buildong senseless sentences and listen to "The Bolden" ;-)

i have not formally studied anything but JJ, but i have done a lot of training with/against muy thai and judo players, they have taught me many things that helped while in MMA and judo is still nice to have some of the throws etc for my JJ game
what do you learn in NinJutsu it is one of the most interesting martial arts i have seen but it's elegence lays in my ignorance, i truely do not know what you train with and how you train in NinJutsu and have never researched it.. i hope to one day watch some classes/take a few weeks of it, i am not sure how off i am but any feed back is nice
what i have seen is, weapon work with short swords, throwing knives, and other weapons of the "ninja" a lot of work with balance, and many moves that are designed for a 1 strike instant kill, (certain strikes to the heart etc...) other then this i have never learned/seen much of this art, any one willing to write in their own words what you do in a class, how you train etc..? i could find a link, or wiki it etc, but i would rather hear from some one who has taken a class or has knowledge of what these martial artist do

well thats kinda hard to say since modern ninjutsu is much more watered down than the old traditional ninjutsu. if u evr get the privelege to learn evrything from the grandmaster than there will b alot of unique skills such as wall scaling, training outside on ie and at night, and basicaly doing ninja stuff, including how to assassinate sum1 lol.
howevr obviously there would b a problem with teaching evry person who walked in your door how to make explosives, so modern ninjutsu is basically all the hand combat and sum weapons from the traditional style, it is very similar to jujutsu in that it involves alot of locking maneuvers, as well as striking, u could look up vids on ninjutsu on youtube, usually under the term bujinkan or ninjutsu

I've done boxing and taekwondo. Currently doing muay thai kickboxing and brazilian jiu jitsu (machado).
If I had to add one, it'd be sambo or judo.

Okay. Some people got the wrong impression of me doing escrima and ninjutsu.
Let me re-word the 2nd part of the thread.
I take BJJ and muay thai.
The martial arts I want to learn is ninjutsu and escrima(which I'm starting now, but that's a different story)
So I apologize for the misunderstanding everyone.:o

At one time I would have loved to learn some type of martial art, karate or aikido. But in 93 Royce ruined it for me. lol.... Just BJJ for me.
You mean that you wouldn't want something to supplement your GJJ? Like MT or wrestling or boxing... or Ari's fave- TKD?:D

I like the idea of learning catch wrestling. I think it would help supplement my ground game. One big problem though. I don't think there are very many guys who are legit teaching now.

Ari I think we all know that Tae Kwan Do kicks arse, and that all other martial arts are pathetically weak in comparison! I studied it when I was 12 and got to green belt and I can still remember the DEVASTATING snap kick that I learnt... all this grappling $hit is just denial :)
(BTW I think Chuck Norris is a 7th Dan in TKD, and we all know the power of his roundhouse kick :D )
