Just curious what your favorite counters are when someone locks you down.

I will start the ball rolling with the Indian Death Lock :)

Jam your arms in there and sprawl out as soon as they get it. Ends up setting up for the double underpass.

Forgive me if I am getting this wrong, but wouldnt sprawling out after they have completed their lockdown, add to the tightness of their hold on your leg?

Wrap the legs with your arms>Put pressure on the stomach>and extend the leg that is in lockdown

So, for this, are you using the shoulder? Do you use the shoulder on the same side as the leg that is locked down, or the opposite?

Can you explain the technique for the no hands pass you use?

No hands pass

there is another pass that I had busted out on me by John from Vancouver (when he and Zeus visited) that works really well. Just imagine falling to your side and looking at their feet. I am gonna play around with it and then make a video.

One of the best ways to stuff the lockdown is get over under and just use shoulder pressure to keep hammering your opponent down, never letting them establish a good whip up or double under hook control.

I think the twister pass as John Botello (my instructor at 10th Planet Phx. (phxfightclub .com)calls it is the only pass that, someone possibly could use to get out of lockdown. Or the Gracie sprinter pass only if someone has a weak one. I like to think my lockdown is death on someone cause of my size and leg strength (ask Tom).

if you spin for a leg lock you, just get calf crank back. Or you loose giving up your back as that person releases the lockdown

nah it works most of the time for me most of the time, but i use leg locks more than anything else so i'm used to defending when they go for my back or another leg lock. their is a nasty toe hold they can do from their that u have to be REALLY fast to avoid

I place my head on the opposite side as the leg that is locked down and yes, I do use the shoulder to put pressure on his stomach. I like this way more better, but it does take a lot of work.
