looks like a lot of mma fighters are getting using. Is it because a majority of these supplements have steroids? What are your thoughts?

I did not expect that from either of these two. Imagine after that whole 30 min special on Sean's Training and how he only eats natural healthy food etc etc....

WHO KNOWS WHATS GOING ON WITH THE BELT!??

I think the use of steroids in the UFC even and most of Pro MMA is probably very common. For some reason the testing is becoming more strict right now. Possibly as a result of Chris Benoit and everything else going on. The general concept I think in MMA is quicker recovery of the muscle tissue and of injuries. Im no expert at all... I know very little about roids but I think ppl are mainly just getting caught now.

It is of my understanding that Franca used because he had an injury and was going to back out of the fight if he wasn't able to train. He basically used them to heal up.

Sherk also used a "recovery" steroid similar to what Royce Gracie used. Basically, I have noticed that many MMA fighters are using steroids for joints and recovery rather then muscle building effects.

I think we could see a longer distance between fights and shorter careers if fighters stop using these types of steroids.

I imagine since Sherk is banned until July 2008 the belt will be stripped and 2 people will fight for it. I would imagine 2 of these 4

Stevenson
Penn
Huerta
Frankie Edgar

165 lbs div? What are they gonna do with the 170 lbs Div? If it stays whats the point of having that between 155 and 170 lbs.

A new 165 lbs. division? Haven't heard anything about that. so they will have 6 classes now? I don't get it.... whats 5 lbs? I think they should do this..... 145, 160, 172, 190, 215, HWT (limit 275lb.) It doesn't make much sense that high school wrestling is 275 but the UFC in 265 lbs.

Maybe I heard wrong but I was told there will be a 145lbs and a 165lbs division. I thought it sounded weird too.

If BJ Penn Stays 155lbs thats all she wrote!
Ill just be happy hes in the UFC all together at any weight!

Hey Tom, not to be argumentative but are you writing off Joe Stevenson?

I believe Sherk would beat Penn in a 5 round action filled fight - just like the Franca fight.

Also, Sherk has appealed. They said the average human can elevate up to levels of 6-10mg of Nandrolone (the substance he tested positive for) during actions. Sherk tested positive for 12mg. Those of you who don't know, that's a VERY low reading to be accused of using steroids for. Royce Gracie tested positive for the SAME DRUG after beating Sakuraba this last fight, but Royce had 50mg in his system. Quite a difference here... my point being that I believe if Sean Sherk were going to juice, he would have done it a long time ago, and used something other than Nandrolone (which is Deca) that causes you to GAIN weight and hold water.

Do the research on the drug. Google it... it'd be the LAST choice of a guy like Sherk who has to cut so much to make 155. And as for the amounts tested in his body, yes they were above that of an average human. However, since when have we ever considered Sean Sherk to be an average human???

I agree. Why would he do something like that when he KNOWS he will get tested and stripped of title.
