Today was a good day. I got to play some RG, I went 4.5 mins with an Olympic qualified wrestler and I got my first official submission. It felt pretty good. I have some videos that I will be posting as soon as possible. A big round of applause for submissions 101 and all the videos that made it possible.

I think he did, considering he said he got his first submission

unfortunately i did not get him. The guy I tapped took second in the weight division I was his only loss. The wrestler took first. It was really hard to try and get an offence going when he kept me totaly pinned and stuffed my attempts to whip up. I forgot some of the fine points of the RG but it was good because it showed me the parts of my game that I need to improve and drill more.

Thats pretty good still. As long as you can see what your doing wrong that is all that matters. Oh, and see what you are doing right as well.

Let's take another look at your Original post, shall we?

I went 4.5 mins with an Olympic qualified wrestler and I got my first official submission.

and now another post by you

So to sum up, you went 5 minutes with an Olympic wrestler...who won the tourney, and the guy you tapped out, lost to only you, and the tourney champion.....

I'd call that a spectacular tourney....not bad sir...not bad

Hey viking I wish that I had some excellent advice about getting your cardio up but all I can tell you is to spar lots and take in as many classes as you have available. I didnt really train for "rounds" I just did my usual classes and sparred with my training partner an extra day for the last few weeks.
