Hello all:

I first off want to thank you all for the tremendous support you've put forth towards my personal endeavor (Submissions 101). The main reason I started the site was because I just didn't see a site out there that catered to the JJ community in a FREE and easy way.

I've been teaching for about 5 years now (training for over 20 in the MA) and decided to put my teaching skills to good use and try to produce easy to understand videos of JJ techniques. I am certainly not claiming to be the best JJ guy out there but I think I've got the knack on transmitting knowledge to others. I've seen lots of videos from guys who've won world titles etc, but the instruction was hard to follow.

I'd like to tap into your ideas on how to spread the word of Submissions 101. I'd like to get the traffic up there and see it appear on Google's first page. I do all the videos for free and in my free time. I use google ad sense and the sale of the DVD to make a little bit of $ on the side (help with hosting and time put in). More traffic equals more revenue which equals more time I can devote to more videos and future DVDs.

I answer all the emails and questions sent to me and try to get the requests up in a timely manner. I know of no other site which does this.

If you all visit other forums, please feel free to mention the site. Tom and I have a great mutual thing going on and promoting my site will promote his stuff too (and we all agree his stuff rocks!).

That's the rant. Look forward to the comments and thanks to EVERYONE for the support!
cheers
Ari

Hey Ari. No problem. I go on another forum.... bodybuilding.com. They have an MMA section. They have a TON of members but I have been afraid to mention bjjgear forums because their are a ton of trolls and the atmosphere isn't always chill like it is here. Maybe I will start giving individual invites to members to forum but then link submissions101 to everyone. What do you think?

Ryan:

There are always going to be people out there that don't like what we do, that's life. Either closed minds or immature attitudes cause people to troll. When you put yourself out there, expect people to examine you. For every bad comment we get, we get 100 good ones.

People have to understand that we are trying to provide explanations to many questions that are out there. Of coarse, we do some things better than others.

When I released the Pentagram choke a couple months back, it showed up on subfighter and lockflow. They certainly had a good time debating over it. Because people had never seen it, they automatically dismissed it. Others loved it and tried it. To each their own. As Eddie says " If you don't learn the new game that's out there, you're gonna get tapped out by it and wonder how it happened. The art is changing..you better change with it."

Perhaps placing the link in your signature would be subtle. But then again, as they say "there is no such thing as bad press."

It's up to you.

Thanks for the help!
Cheers

Ari

That certainly makes a lot of sense. I guess when Bruce Lee presented his Jeet Kune Do to the world he took the good with the bad and made believers out of those who didn't want to accept it. K. I think I will let everyone know about both sites and that way we can weed out trolls
