This pretty much sums of what we did really well.
I have to say that I was really impressed with the workout that we did, especially for a free seminar. Dave Smit, the guy that ran through it really knew what he was doing, and explained things really well.
There were times when I didn't think I would get through it, mainly because I am very out of shape, but I pushed myself to try and get through all the exercises as best I could (right now, my hips are letting me know I did something right). I think that what we did described above really allowed everyone of all levels to really challenge themselves with the same workout. That circuit of jumping jacks, strides, burpies and hillclimbers were challenging on their own.
I have to say that I have tried many times individually to get back into shape, I have not been able to keep at it. Taking the JJ has really helped me, and I can definitely see the benefits of combining the training we did today with it.
Thanks for Ari for putting this together today.

Hey Guys:
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I think it was an eye opener for everyone. What we did today is apart of the www.fitnessjiujitsu.com (http://www.fitnessjiujitsu.com) (sneak peek..this site is almost ready to launch..you guys are the FIRST to see it) site that we are about to launch (David and myself did videos, ebooks and workouts that will push and describe everything we did today.)
Today was mostly conditioning and the static stretching (which Tango was talking about) is apart of the series in our new program. Unfortunately, David had to run, so we didn't get into the warm down and MAX stretching series I designed with him :(:)
Thanks for the testimonials...next time: strength MMA workout: Tires and sledgehammers.
peace
Ari

Sounds similar to workouts we do at our gym. Had to do 300 burpees for my kickboxing grading yesterday. I know how you guys feel!

DAAAAAAAAMN. How long did that take you?

About 15 or so minutes I think. Had 5 X 3 min rounds of sparring, 10 X 3 min rounds of pad work. About 10 minutes of demonstrating techniques. Plus a lot of crunches, running etc at the start to get warmed up. Our gym has quite a few pro fighters in it now. It's good for our training as most of us do our best to keep up with them and reap the benefits.
You must be in REALLY good shape... thats like 20 burpees a minute!

Yeah - my fitness has improved a lot in the last 6 months. Dropped a weight division (competing in the 67-73kg division next comp instead of 73-79kg). My trainers are running a comp on Sept 28th down here. I want to represent them well and win it.

Just over 5'10. Do about 30 minutes of skipping every morning. Can't be bothered heading down the park for a jog.

Sorry for all the questions but what do you mean that you can't be bothered heading down the park for a jog?

Prefer skipping for cardio cause I can do it at home. Don't have to make the trip down to the local park to have a jog.
You messing? I've just come back from a run, i've gone from doing 5 laps in 40 minutes to 25 minutes in 1 week!
I love it! Well, I don't love it, but afterwards you feel great, and then of course BJJ in the afternoon!

I prefer skipping at home with the TV on. If I have a day off work I'd rather get out and either go for a swim in an outdoor salt water pool and go for a jog somewhere nice. During the week with work I prefer just skipping at home with the news on in the morning.
Fair enough. I hate skipping to be honest, it wears me out more than a run, and it's just not as enjoyable I don't think. When it's sunny running is great, especially with this new girl I've met, she's a cross country champion in the North West of England, so she pushes me to my limits...and that's just her warm up!

Rolling is the funnest form of exercise. Every Sunday I go to open mat at the gym and roll for a couple of hours. You have a great time doing it and the exercise is just a benefit.

I have a rowing machine that I set up in front of the tv. Rowing machine + 10 or so episodes of South Park = good conditioning lol

10 episodes??? 5 hours of rowing???? Forget That Noise...
I prefer the 1 sit up I do to reach the remote, and the nice slow "negative" of laying back down..
God I'm a fatty, I need to get back to running, but I hate it so much...

I really only go for like 3 hours at the most, but you really don't notice it when you're laughing your ass off the whole time hehe
