It worked for Rolls Gracie. The thing about BJJ is that we are all gonna tweak it to our benefit.

I started bjj to help my wrestling, and I caught on really quick because wrestling is so good for the sport. I definitely recommend it.

yes i thought so too, cuz ive seen many topics in other forums and stuff saying that bjj have hard time with wrestlers... but if u know bjj and wrestling dam u pretty much have a real big knowledge of the ground game.. i still would tend to go more on bjj side.. i love submissions

just realize the value that each art has in benefitting the other art when participating and only use what is valuable during the crossover. What I mean is, is that there are so many vital differences in the two that you have to make sure you don't carry one into the other and lose or get hurt.

In wrestling you can leave your neck and arms out as much as you want without getting an armbar or guillotine or RNC. In wrestling, a front headlock is different then a guillotine. Its not ok to be on back in wrestling to get a better position. With most holds in wrestling you must have an arm and a body or a neck and an arm otherwise you will get a holding call. You really have to remember which one your doing/ :)

lol that will be confusing then.. no guilo no armbar.. and no guard ? well i guess its almost all different

Don't get me wrong. Wrestling is a great help in BJJ when it comes to strength, transitioning between moves and maintaining position, riding, throwing in hooks and body control. Imagine how great a 2 on 1 wrist lock can benefit your Jits. Wrestling can help with side control, maintaining an opponent with the legs and other things. There is NO harm in trying wrestling as long as you understand the differences.
