Watching the video after someone suggested I do, I realise this is a fight winning sweep. But the thing is, you guys think it's possible to pull off in a MMA fight, with the fighters wearing boxing gloves instead of actual regulation mma gloves?

I already know I can break the guy down with mission control nd be able to land strikes to the side of his head...but if I can get this sweep in...it's a done deal.

Uhh...why would an MMA fight have boxing gloves? A lot of grappling moves would go right out the window, and I doubt you could get a deep Meat Hook with a boxing glove.

With MMA gloves it would be totally possible though.

It's a mma fight with protective gear. It's sort of a fundraising event. Anyways, my coach told me I was gonna be wearing sparring gloves..as for the grappling, he said seeing as it's boxing gloves, concentrating on retaining dominant position.

Thats what brought the Asylum to my attention.

I'd have to agree with your coach. Bigger gloves are gonna make a lot of moves very hard or impossible, I would forget about going for most chokes. I can't imagine a boxing or sparring glove fitting under someone's arm for an Asylum either, but hey, give it a try in training, see if it's do-able.

I would just stay on top though. Being on the bottom with big gloves would be terrible. Hopefully you're not facing a wrestler...

Nah...it'll be alright. If ever I do end up on the bottom, I plan on pulling mission control. And I'm pretty confident I can sweep him. As for subs...arm bars, triangles, slo triangle or gogo from mount should be do-able.

Mission Control + Loads of punches(or elbows if legal) is vastly under used in MMA. Rough him up, man.

yeah The grappling will be quite limited with sparring gloves lol.. you would have to stick with the basics and or dominance + ground and pound.

I say get his back and pound him out
