Wanderlei Silva is now a UFC fighter.......



Can anyone say "Pride is now officially dead?"


Anyway, who do you think his first opponent will be? He fights in December so it won't be Chuck, Forrest, Jardine or Rua. Probably won't be Jackson or Henderson. Marvin Eastman is going to middleweight. I think Lyoto Machida would be a great fight for him. Not sure if they will do Evans/Ortiz 2 quite yet or if they will let Evans or Ortiz fight him next. Or does everyone think Dana will feed someone to him like Alexander Houston, Jason Lambert or Babalu?

I agree but I would love to see him fight Tito again just so they can show how much better wandy has improved

I would have said Liddell too but I think he has a fight in late September against Jardine. I would think Silva will be allowed a warmup fight before giving him a tough one. Anyone guessing Houston Alexander?

Yeah, Tom could be right in saying he will be put right in with Chuck, The UFC will lose all the hype around that fight if they stick him in with a Forrest, Bisping, Bonnar, type fighter and he gets caught. That loses all box office prospect for a chuck v Wand fight, Dont get me wrong people will pay for it, But Fans who dont know much about pride and wand, If they see him come in and lose. It wont interest them.

Im not sure, I think they will give him someone second or even third string just to pound out in his first fight.

I got 5 bucks on Van Arsdale, but I'd like to see him Face Liddell or Rau

He wont go on in with Rua, The are the best of friends and id even guess they have it in there contract not to fight. Silva is coming off 2 big KO defeats..Put him in with a 2nd rate fighter and he could still struggle. He really needs one or the other...being Chuck or a Nobody.
