we made our presence known in the midwest with 19 medals at december 6th's dallas NAGA! we had wins with the electric chair, meathook, invisible collar, locked shoulder armbars, rnc, omo plata and subs from spider web. my kids smashed too!

while we were in dallas i had a student (muay thai instructor at my school) Ira Boyd, down in corpus christi. he won the 170 lbs belt in the katana cage fighting event via rnc!!!

one hot day for 10th Planet Dallas!

p.s. denny prokopos, brown and instructor of 10PJJ San Fran got 3rd and jerome basilio got 2nd in their divisions at Grapplers Quest Las Vegas.

check out my article on texasfightnews.com

the editor is also coming to my Gracie Barra seminar on the 13th to do a cover story on Gracie vs 10th Planet. it will be in the february issue

good work brandon, gets some vids up if you have any, always nice to see some 10th planet ass kicking. did you get involved brandon?

also when the high 10th planet guys lose is mainly due to there oppenent bypassing right into side control and thus avoiding the 10th planet game.Or is it just there oppenants are just amazing at defending and simply better.

Who is that?

B-Quick: Please give my best to your students on a job well done and well deserved (funny thing is, 10thP grapplers don't do well in competitions...or at least that is what the establishment keeps saying on forums and you tube comments.)

Go 10P...hoo Rah!

Congrats guys and gals! Just remember..... it takes many years, many competitions and many victims to create a legacy.

Now we just need to get that instructor up in Victoria BC to start competing :D

Lol...my competition days are behind me Ryan. I think my injuries are a bit to great to overcome now. I love rolling and roll every week in class and at seminars but the risk on getting injured in comp is too high.

I am a friendly grappler ;-) and now my legacy will be to get my students to a place where they are number 1. That is MY reward and payoff.

Awesome Brandon...

We actually had a few guys from our academy fly down for that. We took home a few medals ourself. I wonder if any of our guys came up against any of yours...

Aww, shucks... it was me :) I'm out of town for a hearing at work, but in a couple days I'll post my vids.

Honestly, I got my clock freakin' CLEANED in no-gi... by RNC in under a minute. This girl looked like a little cheerleader, wearing sweatpants cut off at the knee, and her name was Raven, training with LA Boxing. I underestimated her totally from the get-go, she got the takedown, took my back, sank the choke, and though I fought it and her hooks a good while, I gave up when I saw stars and heard the ocean. It was like a night on the beach minus the sand, except for the nasty headache I had the rest of the day.

But gi division was another story. I got the takedowns, was up on points (in one match, 17-0) and won all by chokes from mount. And... first prize was a sword. A real ninja sword, if you believe the box.

I met Brandon, he's a very sweet guy, and got to watch one of his kids (Graham) pull a very credible rubber guard series against one of our kids (Tessa with the hot pink hair). Good times were had by all. You should have heard the ref asking him what the truck was and why it was called a truck....

Anyways... thanks again everyone for the support and encouragement ;) ;)

Your contribution may be something very different that none of us are able to do. Which of us, besides Ari, can expand BJJ into the Philipines?

Grats G.!

I bet you looked great on the mat...

hmmm

then sounded kind of dirty... man I even sound dirty in a foreign language... I definitly do something right, I guess ;-)

.. but I meant it the other way - the competitive way... as in you looked great doing those submissions...

I think I stop now...

Grats though...
