yesterday I'm rolling with this wrestler and he gets me in North/South with me on the bottom and we both have double unders... I bridge, push on his hips to get away from him and decide to do a back roll to see if I could take his back..... bam! Worked like a champ....

it was only later that I saw Eddie has it called the B smith in his book only the B smith goes to half guard..... I went all the way to his back.... I couldn't believe it..... and i didn't have anybody recording it so i could look like I kenw what I was doing.....

damnit..... sorry that is all. [/rant]

thanks for the vid ari. I like what you did with your arms on the stomach to create space.... I don't think I did that. I held my hands near his hips, I bridged my legs to get ready for the explosion upward, pushed my hips down and went.... I went right up and over.....

can't believe it worked..... I'm going to start experimenting with it more....

There is no escape from a 'real' North South. :D

PS - I like North South from a sport perspective but I find it to be one of those positions I would not want to go to in a fight. It is too hard to to control the arms sometimes and the bottom guy can easily have double ear slaps to the top guy. The ears slaps can easily come from a blind angle.

funny... i was in a similar position yesterday. i was against a cage and i tried to walk up the cage to get his back.. but he noticed it and yanked me away from the cage so i just fell.
