Um...probably not what you guys are thinking about but here are some pictures from the largest brawl I have been involved in.

40 person bachelor party vs 16 bouncers
11 minutes of street fighting
6 hospitalizations (one bouncer with a broken orbital bone from being blind sided and then head stomped)

I am in black...the rest of my boys are wearing grey

This was me trying to get away from 4 guys who started punching me (I am the guy GETTING head locked)

I think they call this Mato Leao (Hadaka Jime) in Jits

10 seconds later dealing with another asshole..right hook and making sure he isn't getting up but keeping an eye on the surroundings (it is called Zanshin in JJJ). The guy in the left with the white t shirt and black over shirt decide to rush me.

Fun as hell is not what I would call that night.

Fighting hurts.

Damn... Is that the greatest fight that you had been involved in Ari? Choking and knocking those guys just prove how tough you are... I'd never joke on you again...:D

I got pounded on that night let me tell you....you can't see it but my face is all bloody because it all started when one guy threw a punch at me and 4 guys dragged me into the street....after that, I went into survival mode.

What was the full story on that Ari if you don't mind sharing it and the details?

Looks like the bouncer in the last photo, bottom left, is about to receive an overhand right from behind the poor bastard.

The Story:

A stag shows up at our place. A bus load of about 40 guys in their mid 20's. I am standing at the entrance to the upstairs bar with 2 other doormen. A group of 6 guys stands at the entrance and I tell one of them that he is not allowed in because he is 17. They begin to argue. The 17 year old then jumps over and pops me in the face. Three guys pull me out of the doorway and begin to throw punches. I circle out of the scrum as fast as I can because I knew it would be suicide to stay in there. One of my doorman calls in the fight. I come back to help the boys at the door who are out numbers and punches are flying everywhere.

I get grabbed again in a headlock.

Then I decided that enough was enough and bouncing (restraining) was out of the question. It then turned into a fight.

In the bouncing profession it is called " giving the green light". That means do whatever it takes to put as many people out as fast as possible.

Better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6.

Have the video but I won't upload it for certain reasons...if you ever come visit...I'll show you.

I want to come visit just to see it. Being in the industry I love watching videos like this just to learn from them.

Yeah. I was contemplating photoshopping myself into some world war 2 battle sequence to try to out do him... Too lazy to actually go through with it.

Damn... Bouncing definitely is a very dangerous life. I've seen about 10 people brawling but 12 against 40 is just the highest difficult thing that one could possibly be in...

fighting does suck, and it does hurt, but i have always liked getting my ass handed to me, i don know why...

i know many people have "messed up" at bouncing, and can no longer function, one such case being he tried to throw a side heel kick, and hit his head on the back of a chair, knocked himself out, woke up in the hospital after they beat him near to death before some1 stopped it, =(

you guys have a hard job, and every time i here of som1 who bounces, i instantly gain a lot of respect for them.

Why? There are loads of bouncers that are the epitamy of douche and take advantage of their positions. Look at the individual and judge them on their own merit.

Agreed, I have seen bouncers kick guys out for hitting on girls who the bouncer was interested in. I have also seen bouncers decide what the girl wanted or didn't want for them.

Some bouncers are in it just to protect the company and some bouncers just genuinely care about people.

I agree that there are some people that become bouncers simply to be able to fight people. As someone that runs a very busy late night venue I can assure you it becomes very easy to pick this type of person during an interview, and not hire them. I hate bouncers that do that, it gives the good ones a bad name.

Most people had always been themselves... They carry whatever it is that they have within themselves to their profession. Some just cannot get professional with their jobs...

Only few can really do the job well in a true manner...:)
