I have been getting this lately and wanted to ask the ?...
Okay I've got TSC on someone and i'm in perfect position.. At first they don't do anything to avoid the grapevine. Finally they turn in and I grapevine a leg but they keep going until they are facedown FLAT on their stomach. I can't really Desouza control from that position and I'm not 100% sure the twister roll to the truck will work from that position since they aren't still on their side. I've been looking thru the books but I can't find anything that specifically addresses it.
The obvious stuff that I end up using is abandoning the roll and either transitioning to their back (since they are basically giving it to me) OR I reach down and grab an ankle and hit a calf cutter like how Eddie shows in the move "The Gokor".... Do you guys still twister roll if your opponent is pancaked out on his stomach???
You mean you have him flattened out on his belly?
Do anything you want! That is like the most lovely position in Jiu Jitsu.

yeah he's flat on his belly but i have one of his legs grapevined.... most of the time I have done it i'm kinda unsure of what to do (either take the back or try and continue to the truck) but my hesitation causes him to turn and i end up in his half guard....
can i twister roll and snatch a leg on the way over???? i'm going to try it today and see what happens when i'm drilling...

Nah, seriously, buddy, if you don't pass out from glee that he just gave you his back (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) just roll over onto him, sink the other hook in, and go to work. Or do that Iron Sheik on page 204 of Mastering the Twister. That's what I would do, or laugh and go get a drink while he did his 10 burpies from giving up his back that we have to do at our academy.

I have to agree with Ed here, the guy giftwrapped his back for you, it would be rude of you not to take it.

the correct answer would be (if looking for the truck as oppose to the back),
"what is 'the dodge'."
and yes, the mechanics will be slightly different than shown in MTT, but the theory is the same. there would be little your victim could do to prevent you from diving over his back, rolling onto your left shoulder, and assuming the truck. especially if you have their leg grapevined.
this situation is a little hard to imagine as something that would raise any questions. i'm not trying to be a dick, or anything. just keep drilling, and you'll be quick enough to have them in the truck before they have a chance to belly out.
it might be easier to just teach them how bad of an idea that really is by taking their back and choking them. but really, transitioning to the twister is easier from the back, anyways.

hmmmm yeah i'll have to try it... class was real short so i couldn't put in alot of work....
i'll drill some more with some belly down opponents... actually come to think of it tonight someone did do it.... and i promptly took their back and RNC'd them.... i think the reason that i asked is because my back attacks suck at this moment... it's all revolved around the RNC or some type of leg attack like a calf cutter, etc....
Tonight I got the RNC on that guy when he dropped his arm and i locked my leg over it and then connected my feet so he couldn't pull his arm out... it's crazy how easy it is when they only have one arm to defend.. LOL...
