A nice technique taught by Professor Pedro Sauer's first female Black Belt, Sarah Carlquist.
I like Sarah's techniques a lot because they are so technical. If they work for her against her Male Black Belt Contemporaries, they work well for a weakling like me.

Thanks Ari. We should pick a project to work on and go back and forth a bit. That was fun last time.
We could look at strictly submission wrestling considerations and then show MMA possibilities, counters, counters to counters, daisy chains and lockflows.

I am in bro...any ideas...or existing videos you want to tackle? Escapes? Crushes? Perhaps some of the members here can chime in?
She is pretty.
That is good stuff. We do both of those. We trained that guard break pretty heavily last week.

If it would be o.k. with you Ari, I'd like to start from scratch on this one rather than working off of an existing video. I think starting the project from square one with a collaborative mindset will change the overall look and feel of the work.
I love the idea of seeing what the Sub 101 peeps are into. Are there any Jiu-jitsu stones that you've left unturned at this point? With so many vids, I'd expect you've got most of the bases covered. But maybe there's an odd position or situation that has somehow managed to escape your attentions to this point. Quarter position maybe or, Up vs. Down?
You could analyze the "Leghook Guard". :D

i think maybe a some set ups to leg locks from different positions. they're sorely overlooked in most of the jj community and there are only a few vids of them on sub 101

Didn't Eddie originally have that as part of the 10th pjj as "London" but cut it because it was so easy to hop over on the hooked side?

Nice vid. I believe it's Johnny "one eye" Carlquist's wife. The peeps at Pedro's are among the most technical in the world imo.

It is a little bit different but you are correct! I was gonna mention that. This is a very common 'guard' for catch guys for some reason. Here is the explanation of why London no longer exists:

better watch out ari! brian and brandon are upping their game on the vids, there even bringing in pretty blackbelts to help them out! jokes.
maybe things to do from normal side control, i.e a comnination of moves or a gameplan. for instance on this danish guys blog, he has a simple route to follow from side control. i don't know, i'm sure what you guys will come up with will help alot not matter what it is.

I don't think you can ever have enough guard passes..... Do any of you guys know the "one arm under" pass???? Maybe I need to shoot a video of it.... SUPER effective and sets up a submission from it too.....

There are several. There is one I REALLY like we call the Renzo pass because somebody named Renzo either invented it or taught it to my teacher.
I wish stuff had names. :D

I like this idea
Edit: Odds are that someone named Renzo = Renzo Gracie ;)

Well Ari? What do you think so far? Two votes for Leg Locks. Anything you've been working on in your own personal game?

First, I just want to get it out there that it's one of my "to do before I die lists" to be on MMA Girls with Lauren and Joanne. So Santa if you're listening...
Second... stay tuned. We've already got some sick stuff in the can for the side control escapes and sweeps. These are from Pedro Sauer Black Belt Mike Diaz and they are incredible. An answer for pretty much every arm configuration for side cross control.
But be patient because there is a bunch of other material we have piled up before we get to that. Sorry...:(
