Ari, this might kind of seem off-topic on a wrestling website, but lately I've been stretching to be able to do high kicks. I was wondering if I stretch throughout the day, around maybe 30 seconds each time just randomly, would it increase my progress in gaining more flexibility? or is it just a sort of one time thing. I was also wondering if you could give me more tips on increasing my flexibility to be able to do the splits.

Doing the splits requires lots of effort. Butterfly stretches are good. You need to work on the inside leg muscles for that.
Try and do stretching for at least 20 minutes a day in the area you want to increase. It may seem like a lot of time to devote to stretching but the more you do, the faster you'll see results.

If you go to the gym, stretching right after you workout your leg muscles will dramatically increase your flexibility...i went from nothing to a full butterfly in 3 months, splits, everything....even the lotus =)....can't do the handstand one yet....eddie :mad: ...
I also think that you stretching randomly throughout the day isn't that good, you should be properly warmed up and then thoroughly stretch....cold stretching is a good way to pull something.
