sounds like when i'm working with my wife. the panda doesn't complain.
you should make that picture of your kid in the twister as you avatar pic. it just looks gnarly seeing that little dude strung up like that... lol, i wonder what child protective services would think :)

hehe,I've often considered doing something similar with my 8 year old cousin, but i can just imagine the grief i'd get from my family when he starts dropping gogoplata's on kids who annoy him at school :P
Cute, but can I be critical?!
When you're doing the calf crank, you're using both arms on the foot you're pulling down. NO NO! You're asking for an armbar there!
Also, when you come to Jiu Claw, you are putting your arm inside his legs. If he manages to outpower your control, he'll roll you straight into an omoplata of his own. NEVER put your arm in the middle, make sure its either on his foot so you can easily pull it out or you hook the far leg (or over his torso).
Cool kid, wait til he's 19 and he's gogoplata'ing you from all directions ;)

hell yeah those are the kind of comments I want whether or not the video is for fun or not...
i just looked at MTRG and sure enough his arm is all the way across his outside leg.... interesting point.....
and i haven't looked at MTT yet but i am imagining that i should keep a hold on his free foot and my other hand goes for the foot i'm going to attack???? thanks for that man. never thought I would be in danger from there from the way I have his hips elevated....
UPDATE on the post. My vids got corrupted for some reason (youtube sent me a msg) so i'll have to reload them.....

Lovin' it. I'm not allowed to practice on my kids :)
As for your comment in the first video about grappling dummies, for those off times, between rolling and training sessions, you can use a homemade grappling dummy.
these (http://www.geocities.com/fightraining/grappled2.html) are the plans I based mine on (though I added rebar non-bendable sections where the arms legs and shoulders shouldn't bend, and added a couple of 5lb iron weights to his chest (well covered by high density foam) to add a little mass. I got the foam from a friend, total cost was just under $50 CAD. (the heavy guage service cable, and the duct tape being the primary costs)
I'm not quite done Bender yet (my wife came up with the name based on how his head looked early on -- suits his purpose though, so it stuck.) needs feet, and some more reinforcement around the neck.
As has been said many times, it's not a replacment for proper instruction, and a resisting partner, but it's better [edit: THAN] practicing on air :)

This looks good. give a shout when you are done, i'd be interested in any pointers or problems you have in construction.

The only real problem I had was having the body proportions off by quite a bit at first. "Measure twice, tape once" should take care of that :)

I roll with my kid. He doesn't know any submissions but he gives me a pretty good workout. He is 15 years old and wrestles 215 pound class.
Kids are great until they turn 16 and your auto insurance rates go through the roof.

My mom worked for state farm. I couldn't get my driver's license until i was 18.
oh, and that dummy looks creepy for some reason... i should get to work on one.

My 6 year old is anxious to see you rolling with your 7 year old. When/if you get the time to upload again, I'd appreciate an update to this thread :)

yeah no doubt. they really want to train now and they are supposedly opening up a Gracie school in my area soon so i'll most likely put them in there and get their foundational stuff solid.... the little one has a MEAN rear naked choke....
yeah he won't let me cut his hair and it's been growing for about three years now... :D that kid gets crazy play from the ladies....
