After listening to my wife tell me that "All you think about is JJ. It consumes you." I have been thinking about what she said for sometime now and this last weekend I got to roll an extra 2 days this week. I realized that my wife may be right. I think that I am addicted to JJ. I just cant get enough. Its all I think about, and dream about. Even when I am at work I just cant wait till my next chance to roll. So I have decided that I need to start a group for other people that suffer from this wonderful affliction. Dont worry I will lead the way.
Hi everybody my name is Matt. I have been grappling for almost 18 months now and I want to let it all out.
I am an addict.:D

Didn't Bruce Lee say something along the lines of... you are a true martial artist when it shows in your every action? ... something like that.
Then again, your wife may not sympathize with that perspective :P In which case, congratulations on completing the first step.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Granted my addiction is just martial arts in general. Believe it or not it has actually been the factor of girls breaking up with me... it just never leaves my mind. Constantly thinking of new possibilities, learning new techniques, understand history, learning about different styles... I'm starting to think if I ever get married she will have to be a martial artist as well

welcome guys to the first meet of GNSA(Grapplers Not So Anonymous) I think it sounds catchy:p
Yea im so into JJ its like drug.
Early to bed ,early to rise , im Jujutsu crazy y'all, and you can see it in my eye's.
Its engulfed me like nothing ever has before , not even surfing.
Everything revolves around using technique over power . I'll probably create my own Beer ceremony at some stage ,ala the Japanese tea ceremony.. haha
Guys guys guys..... this isn't how mens therapy works!
Instead of admitting you have a problem you need to inform your wife that passion is something she lacks in life. I love the sport of MMA (cage.... not rope). She always accuses me of being obssessed and overly passionate but I always ask her what she is obssessed about. I accuse her of being a deadbeat with no real zest in life. This pisses her off but its true.

i've tried countering with the usual female fascination with purses, clothes and shoes but somehow it never quite translates into extra mat time :(
Sign me up?
If a day went by that I didn't think about Jits, I certainly don't remember it. I've thought about ways of using Jits in Call of Duty (of course it didn't happen). I've dreamt about Jits and thought about escapes and techinques at work....
At least its a healthy addiction, the only way it can hurt you is through other people hurting you :p

Hey guys, my name is martin...
I started doing jiujitsu every once in a while, you know, at parties and stuff when everyone else was doing it. Then i started doing it a couple times a month. Then a couple times a week. Now i cant stop. Its consumed my life. My job, friends, money; gone. My mum doesnt recognise me these days, she keeps saying shit like "you've changed".
I've tried to stop, but it seems every wear i go peoples throats are looking at me, begging for me to sink a choke on them. And i know its only a matter of time till i'm back on the mats...

Im struggling right now. I have been watching vids for a couple hrs now and the urge to roll is becoming unbearable. I think that I may have to choke my wife out to get the urge to go away.:p
It's something we all suffer from at one time or another, but, trust me, guys, if you don't have other interests to create balance in your life you'll burn out in ten years. And that would suck big time.
