check this out....

My blue belt trained with this guy and i was looking up the "neto roll" and found this.....

FWIW also check out the neto roll. it looks alot like the samurai to back only it's from the half guard....

this is a nasty spine lock that looks like a good add for ppl that already work rubber guard and have the flexbility to do it...

he's not the only one that I have heard refer to the peruvian necktie as the "ten finger choke"..... I've heard others say that too....

but yeah that back technique is nice....

 it's so...i can't decide between "beautiful" and "brutal"! omg that's my new go to move from the back!!!!!

I think this move is great for corpses without rigor. You would never get this on me because I would be protecting my neck!!!
Whitebelts dont even leave their arms out and limp like that:(
my rating is -1

i think with wrist control u could isolate an arm, most people won't be worried about protecting their neck if there's only one hand near it and it's an underhook (well not in no-gi anyway)

New moves are great to know, but people forget that it's very unlikely you'll ever get the chance to use them in competition. Until it is repeatedly won in tournaments people will say it's lame.

yeah i see this as an option if you can get that arm controlled....

bringing the knee up under their armpit can isolate that arm....

seriously analize the move again
0:14 the guy would be defending his neck
0:17-23 the guys arms are out limp
if the guys who has his back were to use wrist control the the underhooked arm would be the one to do that not the overhooked arm threatening the neck. if he tried to release the head he would lose position....seriously look at it again

I gotta agree with Brandon on this one. I like to call moves like this "Concept Car" Jiu Jitsu. Meaning, in theory, it's pretty sweet, but in a live roll,Not so much.

I just think the risk of giving up position, for a low percentage of success. Nobody has said it for a while here so I will, "Position Before Submission" gentlemen.....

yeah i watched it again and i see what you're saying..... this would have to be one of those moves that you "fall into"....

but at this point i probably wouldn't practice it enough to be able to pull it off at the drop of a hat...

FWIW, this move kind of reminds me of what Jeff Barney was doing off of jerome basilio's rubix cube setup where you trap your opponents elbow with your foot when he's in your guard.... The end result looks almost the same as the move he called the "puppet master"....

i enjoyed the simple breakdown by brandon quick. the move isn't very high percentage.

as for the argument of giving up position, the armbar and multiple leg locks give up a lot of position as well. if you only chose moves by this logic, you wouldn't have much of an offense.

although the move looks more like a gimmick, it is fun to play around with. it wouldn't be too hard to throw it into your bag of tricks, you never know when the opportunity might present itself to use it.

hmm, as it is right now Brandon Quick is right, but i think this could be tweaked alittle to tighten it up, i'll screw with it next time i get the chance so i can know for sure though

does this remind anyone of the puppetmaster?

i may be wrong but it looks pretty much like the spine lock that you get from the puppetmaster....

yeah read my post up like 5 replies....

the end looks exactly like the puppet master spine lock that I think he calls the "unforgiven".... difference is the setup....

Like others have said this would need to be tweaked to keep control of your opponents arm better....

Sorry guys but u have obviously never rolled with someone from a Neto school. It works and it works a lot and its easy. I think that because u are watching it in video format rather than actually doing and feeling it you don't really realize how well it works.

I think dismissing a move so "quickly" is a bad idea. Every move probably starts off being ridiculed. Then someone masters it and taps everyone with it.

I say give it a few drills, and try it live on a lower partner first. I just think that as 10th planeteers, especially as 10th planeteers, it is important to keep an open mind and give things more than just a once over before dismissing it.

My 02 cents.
