View Full Version : UFC 75 Spoilers and discussion
Ok, Marcus Davis is a serious threat. He is a tough SOB. I bet he is a great teacher as he explained move for move and why he did it and why he got the outcome that he did. Excellent performance.
Cro-Cop, is he over the hill or overrated? It seems as if Kongo just picked him apart. I am starting to wonder if these Pride fighters are overhyped or just that UFC is getting them past their prime.
Bisping and Hamill was a complete and utter robbery. We saw an EXCELLENT Matt Hamill and had this fight been anywhere but London then Hamill woulda won it! He was aggressive and he looked like a future Tito.
Houston Alexander.... wow.
Henderson vs Rampage- Not sure what to think of this fight. I though it was even going into the 5th round but I think we will see a rematch.
If I were to see these people in their next fight here is who I think they should have......
Rampage v winner of Rua v Griffen
Henderson v winner of Jardine v Liddell
Alexander v Bisping
Hamill v Bonnar
Davis v winner of Fitch v Sanchez
Cro-Cop v Arlovski (loser ends UFC contract)
Kongo v winner of Vera v Sylvia

I totally agree on bisping vs hamill. Hamill showed alot of improvement in his stand up and owened bisping for most of the fight. IMO hamill was robbed of this fight and i hope someday we can see a rematch.
Cro Cop on the other hand was dominted through the entire fight. Im not sure if hes still not comfortable in the cage or still feeling that loss to Gonzaga.
But I to am also starting to wonder about alot of these PRIDE guys and maybe all the hype of them coming into the UFC was just to boost ratings a little more. Hopefully Shogun can come in and restore some of the luster back into PRIDE joining UFC.

It was interesting that is for sure.
Bisping and Hamill was a classic "polictics in motion" kind of fight. It doesn't speak well for the sport when you get those types of calls. They must change the 10 point must system which is a hold over from boxing. They also have boxing judges doing MMA bouts (Ceicil Peoples).
Crocop had his rib broken in hte first round. Kongo, while a huge man, isn't a top 10 fighter. Crocop didn't look good at all.
As Lost said: "But I to am also starting to wonder about alot of these PRIDE guys and maybe all the hype of them coming into the UFC was just to boost ratings a little more. Hopefully Shogun can come in and restore some of the luster back into PRIDE joining UFC."
Hmmm...I actually think we've seen that the PRIDE guys are VERY good, perhaps better that the UFC guys in some regard. Look who is the 185 lbs champ (silva). He's from Pride. The 205 champ? Rampage (from pride). Whatever people think of Pride, it is of no doubt that the level of fighters is much higher on a whole than that of the UFC.
Now, I am not saying the UFC fighters are shit...I just see a marked difference in them.
My 2 cents

Ive always loved pride fighters but IMO watching some of their fights it seems as if they are holding back or so to speak in the cage. Maybe its just me i dont know

Crocop is a stalker from time to time. He walks down his opponents which makes him look like he is holding back (which I guess he is). He very rarely will throw strikes with reckless abandonment. However, some guys like Anderson Silva or Wanderlei love to throw. Styles make fights I guess.

I still dont know in some cases it looks like im not seeing the same fighters anymore. Ill just have to pay closer attention in the future
Nog didn't do very well against Heath Herring who has his only UFC win over Brad Imes.
Anderson Silva was technically a Cage Rage fighter and hasn't fought PRIDE since 12/31/2004 and fought in Cage Rage and ROTR before premiering in UFC on 6/28/06.
Dokonjonosuke Mishima lost to both Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson
Anyway, this is why MMA should have one standard cage

I totally agree with all of you Matt Hamill won that fight and was screwed by the judges... I was very disappointed with Cro Cop's Performance I honestly believe that Mirko has just stopped trying
Why hasn't Cro-Cop fought in the U.S. yet at a UFC event?
