Right now I am about 40 pounds away from my goal weight (have already lost about 12), and I was looking to add something to my daily workout. I was wondering what you guys think would be better, an elliptical glide or a rowing machine? Thanks in advance for the replies.

I would say the elliptical glide because you are not seated and thus gravity is another force you have to work against. Seems like more of a cardio work out....for me, I just grapple (I get board with the gym ;) ).
I've had several students loose lots of weight doing jj. One of my students lost 30 lbs in 6 months.

I train BJJ twice a week (would be more but its more than 100 mile trip for me), and I do all the exercies that we do in class, and tack on a bit more to them as well. Between the things I have already mentioned I have lost around 12 pounds in a month and a half, so I guess that I am not doing too bad.
