Hey guys! Controlling your opponent's hips is very important in jiu jitsu. Often when I see guys making mistakes it has to do with how they are controlling the hips.

Here is a tutorial I have created to help tighten your game and control the hips.

Let me know what you think.

Thank You! Very helpful. The focus on the HCZ has been a great way for me to become more aware and sensitive on the ground (being a newbie).

So have any of you seen any progress applying this in your practice?

i know ill enjoy using the knee side control you learned from greg lucas. It looks like a great setup for technical mount.
cant wait to finish the others

Good eye! that is exactly a chain of moves Greg uses. He will pull he knee then when he feels them pull away... bang he goes to "technical mount" aka "High_Side".

I've got 2 weeks to put this information to memory Tim. It's just what I needed to put myself back into my analytical jiu jitsu state of mind. Perfect for my tourney on July 11th. Thanks a bunch. Fantastic stuff as always.

the toe curl on the mount really helped my control, especially when my partner would buck. the small adjustments to the high side and s mount worked excellently. definitely allows me to expend very little energy to gain much more control. thanks again.

AWESOME! That is exactly what I wanted was to add some little details to the game that makes you that much heavier. Keep up the practice.
