It's fun to watch, and demos are cool; but I think most of this stuff falls under Tinkerbell-Jitsu. It's all fantasy.

yea, i agree, part of the reason i got into jiu-jitsu was that i wouldnt have to do alot of jumping around, if my feet never have to leave the ground, and in fact if more of my body is closer to the floor, im happier

Just a point to remember, that flippy crazy shit, only works if you know what it is, I guarantee you that if he actually practiced it against live opponents on a regular basis, and tried it on you the first time you have ever seen it live, it would work a LOT better than you think it would!

just food for thought!

In the movies they call it fight choreography.

I agree that a lot of it is BS, but a lot of it is also really cool to watch. Last year I sparred an Olympic style TKD, I thought his fancy kicks wouldn't be worth shit because I'd just take him down. He kicked me with a 720 hook kick, now it was only because I never saw it before, but it landed once. Once was all he needed though. Afterward he tried it a few more times and I saw it coming but...

I kind of view these JJ videos as sort of the "fancy" BJJ techniques you see. Just something that's out there, and if the time and place is right, why not try it?

Yea, we kickbox with a local TKD school, and the first few spinning kicks to the head hurt like a Biatch, ehh? :D :D

The fancy stuff is also a really kewl way to really understand body mechanics, half of the things he did in that video were very well thought out, planned, and done to a point where the body mechanics did what he wanted them to do, very impressive, even if they were completely useless in a sparring session..

I love stuff like this. It looks cool as hell. Good find.

I probably will never be able to most of it, nor would I think it is gonna work a high percentage of the time, but it would be fun.

It's like practicing nunchucks. I am never going to hit someone with them but they are fun to play with.
