Well, I guess that is an opinion but lets look at some of these examples and bring them to light.........
1. Charles Bennett- quite the criminal. His last fight sucked..... he showboated and got KTFO. UFC is trying to show its class in a mainstream society... this is why Babalu got fired.
2. Fighters got paid more- this is why boxing is dying and Pride is dead. UFC is racking up money, putting on more shows, live tv shows for free and better free agents are coming over. Bodog has offered Matt Hughes tons of money but he decided to stay with UFC.
3. Soccer kicks- is this really part of MMA? I mean, Pride didn't allow elbows but soccer kicks can keep someone out a lot longer w/ a concussion... plus a snapped neck.
4. better theatrics- again this is a sport... not a ballet or Disney on Ice.
5. MMA doesn't belong to the US, nor Brazil and not Japan..... and not England. MMA belongs to the world. So having the unification belt could have happened anywhere.
6. Paulo Fihlo (sp) could have fought wherever he wanted.... he didn't have to sign with WEC... plus.... he has a belt now.
7. Nobody would get to enjoy UFC if they had open weight fights because they have to obey laws... again... UFC is still around.
8. SHWT fights should be allowed but then again.... laws.
9. About the light weights..... they don't have to sign a contract. low pay is a result of low negotiation skills. They could have gone to Bodog
Oh..... and I like it when the champions actually put their belts on the line. How many times did Gomi and Henderson lose fights during championship reigns and NOT lose the belt?

Ok my arguments so far
1. Pride firghter got paid more- Not true in the ufc if ur under any type of contract for 1 fight or 6 you get all of your medical bills paid for, the fight bounuses are now up around the $20,000+ mark I believe (gives fighters the motivation to fight best fight, knockout, sub) There is also sponsors so and if your fighting in the UFC you most likely train somewhere for free... all that beaing said I think these guys are doing just fine
2. No SHW division???? Why is it needed?? So we can have butterban and zulu sorry no thank you....also in a recent interview Dana white said that Zuffa has signed Mark Hunt and that he would be able to make 165 pretty easily
3. The Gomi and Colman thing is just plain stupid....why should you be able to step on a fighters head when he was not even in the fight (or attack another) just a dumb arument
4. There are knees in the ufc or am I wrong?
5. Ufc created the names Chuck liddell, Matt Huges, Rich Frankiln, bj penn, ken shamrock, tito ortiz(kinda pancrase but eh), GSP, Randy Couture and howcan you forget the legendary Joeson
6. Nowhere else to go?? Bodog? showtime/elitexc? IFL? hell Shooto pancrase?
There are other places to go
7 well actually this got really dumb so I stoped watching it....Im not a UFC nuthugger as some would say I actually started watching PRIDE I love cc, shogun, hendo, and page all from there pride days and where do we find them now??? UFC if its that bad why are these names all there??

I agree with you for the most part, although I like the open-weight class tournaments, and some of the theatrics were pretty cool(Genki Sudo Entrances). This video was pretty biased toward Pride.

Do you mean 265? lol.... I was like 165 might be his waist up.
If you let one person do that then everyone else will think its ok. Then someone gets hurt or killed and MMA is ruined.
Yes, knees in UFC is ok as long as its not to the head of a downed opponent.

I would love to see open weight tourneys too but the only think I wouldn't like is that you don't get to see a wide variety of matches if the same person fights multiple times in one night. Not sure I would want to see Tito Ortiz fight more then once. I mean, now, you see a 155 match, 265 match, a few 170s and a lhwt. Sometimes you see the majority of 1 weight class over another. UFC does have catch weight fights like Hughes/Gracie and may have another one between Hughes/Silva. Athletes today are also dropping and gaining weight at the drop of a hat to fight other weight classes like Swick 205-185 to 170. BJ Penn 170-155. Rashad 265-205. Couture 265-205-265. Franklin 205-185

LOL yea I mean 265
and as far as theatrics goes Gono is soon to sign with the ufc according to a few sources and he is pretty known for his entrences so maybe it can translate over

there never was or will be an open weight grand prix in UFC... last time i checked UFC 1 and 2 were open weight...
wow this video is horrible... they claim that the fence is unfair.. and say they grab it to win fights... but we all saw tito vs shad go to a draw because point deduction by grabbing the fence, and pushing the other fighter into the cage on purpose is a strategy and if you get there it should be your fault, both fighters shouldn't be reset so they have an equal playing field that's the worst way to handle things, why get rid of ones advantage?? and prides ropes sucked... people fall out and it waste time in matches, in any MMA there should be a cage because it's ridiculous to see some one get pushed out of the ring and waste all that time...
"in japan the crowd was emotional about fights, women were seen crying after fights" i don't even know what he's trying to use that for in pride vs ufc controversy... and "in pride they never made you sit through a movie trailer" sorry if your ADD/ADHD doesn't allow you to survive through a maybe 2 minute long intro... "bob sapp would never be in ufc" so? did any one see his fight vs cro cop... he cried when he got hit, boy the ufc needs that
the person claims UFC is wrong for going to england but earlier he said that pride was better because international exposure, so in a sense the person is contradicting him/herself trying to bash 1 side hard, and promote the other side like they were doing a great thing
I totally agree with the contradictory bashing.... if I dislike 1 organization for having a ring then I dislike them all for that reason. The only organization that may grow on me is the IFL and that is only because I like the team format. I think that is why I am partial to EliteXC, WEC and UFC.

265 is the Heavyweight max. That is why I put that down. Basically, I am saying that the biggest weight gap possible in a UFC fight according to weigh-in weight would be like 206-267 (if you give the 1-2 lb. allowance. The 206 lber. would be dumb to not fight light heavyweight but this is hypothetical)
