I was wondering how hard it would be to get a sticky post about product reviews? Something easy for people to find if they wanna find good (or avoid the bad) products related to gi and no gi stuff. If its something that the board mods dont want to do I understand, just kinda seemed like a good idea at the time :D

That sounds like a really good idea but how would we do this without taking away from Tom's business if we give good reviews towards other products. The Gi shorts w/ belt that Tom sells was probably designed as an alternative to something we may give a good review for. Maybe Tom could create and sell some patches so if people do buy Gi's that they can atleast put a BJJG patch on it.

If we review other BJJ vids then it may take away from Submissions101 as well.

Ghosted3, Tom or Ari... or anyone- can you figure out a possible way to have reviews without taking away from BJJG.com or subs101?

Good call, I dont want to mess with anyones business at all. Maybe there is a way to only review things that Tom doesnt carry and the stuff that he does carry we can just point people in his direction.

NON-BJJG/Sub 101 Product reviews... takes away bias but negatively effects tom and ari

BJJG/Sub 101 product reviews will be biased and will not give a true representation of other products, i'm not saying ari and tom are self-righteous people trying to smash there product into peoples face, but i personally think it's not good for a company to have people making other products look good...

IDK personally i can't tell the difference in anything i train with but MMA gloves and the fabric of the GI, but i can't wear a GI and say oh this feels like w/e but i guess some people can, but if i can ever stay on topic.. I'd say that there is not really a great way for a sponsored sight to do product reviews because there will be bias no matter what, no matter how hard we try to make it unbiased

fun idea... but i don't think it will work out

My 2 cents:

I am confident in the product I deliver. Competition is no problem to me. I have lots of Tom's stuff but I also have other tees from other companies. It doesn't take away from the fact that I love his product line.

I like to hear what people have to say about products. This could be a DVD (which helps me in the long run because I can LISTEN and HEAR what people like or dislike and make my product BETTER the next time around).

Gis and rash guards are big in our business. So are mats for training. If I can provide help and my experiences I will. I also need to seek out advice from other people who have bought things.

Basically, bring on the reviews from anyone and everything (as long as it is related). Tom and I aren't trying to corner the market or have a self righteous attitude about our own stuff.

I think we both know that we provide good stuff and a niche market within the JJ community.I do however appreciate what you guys are saying and its nice to hear! But I also know we all roll in different stuff and use different things. It's not like Sub 101 is the only website you guys visit. You can learn a lot from everybody (for better or worse).

Besides: It's not like we are sponsored or anything and can only drink Xience or wear Tap Out....jesh....:)

I know Ari. I love your vids and Toms line just as much as the next person. I guess the reason I said what I did was because Tom has deleted people on this site who advertised other sites. I guess I just considered it the same thing. I wouldn't see a problem with reviewing things Tom or yourself doesn't sell such as mats, gi's, fight gear- head gear, gloves, Thai pads and punching bags or grappling dummies. I like other shirts too but haven't really bought anything else since I heard of bjjg except a full contact fighter hoodie. I like Tapout too but they are starting to go a bit extreme on the designs..... not sure I like the artwork around the tapout logo.
