If you are fresh to the jiu jitsu scene, we can say this or that. But truly the best advice for you, is go to class...pay attention...and get as much mat time in as you can. That's how you go from technique to technique...repetition, repetition, and more repetition....

It's cliche, but it's the best way to do things....BJJ has no short cuts...it's hard work. Good luck, and enjoy the ride.

By no means am I any person to give advice on grappling. The best things for me were rolling with humble black belts that help you out as you go along. I've rolled with crazy purple belts that just want to smash me, and I learn nothing from, and neither do they (never really understood the point). Getting to roll with a black belt that says hey this is open do this this and this. And it's such an 'oh yeah!' moment, and you never forget those tips.

i agree with you, but if you go to your classes and you study at home, in my opinion you may be better, it's the same with the university, if you go to your classes, pay attention and study at home, your grades would be better as long as you don't get confused with the things you study on your own.

i totally agree with you, i'm not looking for a short cut, i'm just trying to give the best of me. i remember that keith owen said that in the "tapping 10 000 times video".

i'm a big fan of your videos ari, and keith owens videos too.

keith owens videos are great! they help building your character.

i may not be a keith owen's student but i totally practice the 3Ts way. i learn more when i tap, but when i get my partner to tap, i'm sure that i'm learning from my mistakes.
