Very different mindset from BJJ. Very Military Minded. "We will lose 1 of ours to take 2 of yours"
Intense weapon defense and explosive movements.
I think it has plenty to offer but if someone pulls a weapon on my Im talking my way out or running before I try any of that crazy stuff!
Isn't that Liddels version of boxing?

no, krav maga is an israeli martial art created for both general self defense and military combat purposes, like stated b4 its very military minded and ground fighting consits of a 5 second rule, as in if u cant beat the crap out of him in 5 seconds on the floor get up and kick his face in b4 u turn around and kick his buddies ass b4 he tries to jump u.
I know it is the Israeli martial art but I thought I read somewhere that Chuck uses some techniques from it and that he teaches it.
Another reason is because Chucks punching style and kicking style is very similar to the Krav Maga style.

One of the things about krav that caught my eye was the mental aspect. They purposely put you in difficult situations(out numbered,on the ground out numbered..etc)to get prepared.Just being able to think calmy in those spots is half the battle and seems like it would be very useful.Ari, do you think krav would be helpful in security/bouncing?

Krav is a great martial art. It's a great tool for self defense. Is it good for bouncing and security? Probablly not since it focuses on 'damage principles' rather than restraint principles. You don't want to bash the shit out of a guy just because he won't leave your bar.
The basic principles behind KRAV:
Neutralize the threat
Avoid injury
Go from defending to attacking as quickly as possible
Use the body's natural reflexes
Strike at any vulnerable point
Use any tool or object nearby
So you see, a bit different mindset.
Japanese JJ is where it's at for that type of enviroment. Many JJJ will also teach you the same principles as KRAV too (multiples, weapons, ground, SELF DEFENSE, quick and nasty as well as restraints, joint locks and arresting).
Many of the arts today pull from JJJ anyways.Don't get me wrong, KRAV is like many other RBSD out there today (Sammy Franco, Spear system, RCAT) and a really good art.
my 2 cents.
