What really happened.
It is 2003 so I was 21 years old and Britney was at the height of her popularity.


I was working in Scottsdale Fashion Square for a company named Bang & Olufsen as well as doing loans on the side.

Its near closing time (around 9:00pm) and as usuall I was bored out of my mind playing 2Pac on a $70,000+ sound system annoying the girls across the way at this Hoochie Store Called Rampage (sorry if some girls here shop there but too bad it is for hoochies! haha)

Anyway I do a double take as I thought I saw Britney Spears walk by.
I heard she was in town but I thought nah...I though. Nah...cant be.

I look in my drawer where I still have a sh!tty disposable camera and being the responsible employee that I am I decide to lock up the store and go out and see if thats really her.

I see two blondes at a Kiosk and sure enough it is Britney and her little syster Amber Lynn. I ask Kindly if I cant take a pic with her saying something like "cmon my friends will never believe me" She declined. She told me that
A. Her Publicist didn't like her taking pics at the mall
B. It would draw a crowd.

Well as you can imagine a crowd began to draw anyway so I decided to be kinda funny and put my arm hooked around Britney and say "Go away! havent you guys ever seen a Celebrity before!"

From then on people followed us as I continued to pretend to be security (I was dressed in nice clothing and a tie) and the whole time Im trying to crack jokes. I remember specifically she bumped me with her bag and I said" Oh cause your a celebrity you think you can pick on us little people." She finally loosened up a bit and started laughing as I gave her a sarcastic look. Found out we had the same birthday and year too.

We went through a store called Robinsons May where I asked her for an autograph at the very least. I borrowed a piece of paper and pen and told her to make it out to my "girlfriend Alice" as I was too embarassed to say it was for me for some dumb reason.... she made this one out:

Anyway.... we pass Through Robinsons may and Im getting ready to ask for that pic again. We get outside and I pull out the camera again. I said "Please Britney no one is going to believe this autograph or story can I please take a pic!"
She said "no!" like a true bitch so I pulled one of those moves where you stand next to the person and try and take the picture of the 2 of you. NO BUENO! she did not like that AT ALL!

Well since that didnt work I started winding the shitty camera up again anyway and as she turned away I took that horrible looking picture of her. I wound the camera again and said "hit me baby one more time"....she was PIST. Then I called her a midget and told her she wasn't pretty in real life. (even though she was pretty I figured no one ever knocks her off her pedastool..and she is short as hell!) She must have got scared because they started running to her Tahoe and all these people outside were laughing at her.

First thing next day I get the camera film developed and was holding the picture in my hand and laughing about it with the guys at work since the whole mall had heard.

THEN it hit me. Peter Gimlin. He was a costumer and the writter for the Scottsdale Tribune. I called him and told him the story so he sent someone to pick up the picture ASAP. NEXT DAY Story is ON THE COVER of the Scottsdale Tribune Newspaper and Fox News stops by the store and wants an interview!

The Boss wasn't around so I said: "Sure Lets set up in here!"
I made up some horrible things like "Frankly, she has bad breath" in which the newscaster stopped the tape and said "Frankly, I don't believe you" either way it was a story so she kept rolling and it aired that night. I have a copy in VHS I need to figure out how to convert.

As if this wasnt crazy enough the GLOBE calls me and I tell them the story.
They said thats good but could there "be more?" "Like what" I remarked?
You know "more"
So I was going to say I slept with her or something crazy and they were going to give me $50,000 up front plus 1% of World Wide Sales of that Copy.

I was stoked till I called my lawyer only to find out Britney could sue the sh!t out of me and probably would.

To this Day if you type "Tom Gavrilos" into Google among other weird things you will find Britney Forum Lynch mobs of 11 year olds after my blood!!:D
