So Im doing this here because its prob the place where I will get the least amout of BS.
Pretty much I feel this guy to now be a selfesh asshole he did a complete 180 from one of the most well respected fighters to noone in my mind. Im sorry but if he really quit bcause he didnt recieve a fighter bonus and because Fedor was offered a huge signing bonus.....then he shouldnt be around.... Now he can't fight for somewhere for around another year because Zuffa wont cut him....way to only think of your self Randy sorry sir but you signed the contract and you were happy then.....to me is sounds to be your fault not Lerenzo or Frank or Dana but Randy's fault........fighters do it because they love to fight right yea sure flush that bullshit right down the toilet here.....time to fade away randy your job here is done..
Mostly im just sick of hearing about this, but I think this is the only sport your going to see something like this happen (other sports you might see trade demands but this is mor out there) It's a semi black eye for an entire sport not just the UFC and mayb someone else can see why mayb not but just my 2 cents
Your right, he should have never signed an agreement/contract if he didn't like the terms. If he really wanted this a while back when he signed this contract then he should have stated that he wanted to be the highest paid fighter for the term of his contract. Randy could have done what Fedor did and go for the best offer between organizations but he wanted the UFC. He could have also gone for less fights on his contract.
Its like what people tell you about the military. If you don't want to go to war or the chance of going then don't sign up.

The thing that got me most about the press confrence is he said over 20 times that its not about the money, only to turn right around 1 sentence later and say if he would have gotten the bonus check everything would have been ok, or you (UFC) shows appreciation to fighters by paying them more. Im still not going to hate though, there are 2 sides to every story and we will probably never really know what went on in the conversations between Rand Lorenzo and Dana.

Ghosted, I'm with you...that was the only problem with the press conference, the constant double talk about the money. as far as the harsh words and feelings it appears others, here on across the country, seem to have, i can see where they are coming from, indeed, but i look at it a bit different.
First, let's face it, Randy is not a public speaker nor is he known for being a noted linguist, and i sincerely feel that he just couldn't come up with the words to properly describe how he felt, so it just kept coming back to his favorite line, "it's not about the money". to build on that, did anyone else notice that he didn't seem to have a pre-written prepared statement or even an outline to go off of. he really just seemed to be winging it. not a smart move when you are addressing such major controversy.
second, kind of a counterpoint to Ryan's argument about the terms of the contract and just deciding not to sign if he wasn't happy. i agree wholeheartedly with that premise, BUT the if basis and foundation on which negotiations took place were being misrepresented, then he agreed to figures that he had been told were on par with the richest contracts/agreements in the company. in other words say you had a buddy that worked at a car dealership and you wanted to buy a new car. you ask him what is the lowest price he'd ever sold that car for and he agreed to match that and sell it to you for that same "lowest" price. a little time goes by and you find out that a mutual friend of the both of you bought that same car you did, from that same buddy, a week before you at an even better price than what you bought for, that "lowest" price you had been verbally guaranteed. sure you were happy when you bought your car but that's because you felt you were getting the best deal out there. so how do you feel once you find out your "friend" fed you a load of bull. wouldn't that piss you off? sure, the deal is done, but that doesn't change the fact you are pissed.
look, i love watching randy fight, have the utmost respect for all he has done for the UFC and the sport in general, and wish it didn't go down this way but i can see where he is coming from. does it make it right? nope, a contract is a contract. it's just that he seemed to be operating on a premise of good faith that wasn't extended to him.
how would you like it if your buddy chuck made more than 10 times you did last year? that was the reported figure, saying chuck earned about $17 million in the last year and randy earned around $1.5 million. WOW!!!
again, just my $.02
That makes a lot of sense and I would agree with it. I just hate that we don't know the whole story. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall or something that would give me a much clearer story. A part of me thinks Randy is being promised all of this extra stuff Dana said no to by Hollywood agents and apart of me could see Dana jerking his chain. The thing I don't like about all of this though is that Randy is now associated with people Dana doesn't get along with and could be feeding Randy bad or biased information to dick Dana out of a great fighter.
I guess if it is really what it is then we will find out at a later date.

MAYBE we will find out the whole story, but as the saying goes, "there are 3 sides to every story...person A's side, person B's side, THEN there's the TRUTH!"
the only thing i would add though is the fact that many have said Dana isn't the easiest to get along with. he just has that superiority complex. we'll see what unfolds over the next few months.
